FAQ

How will dentures affect the way I look or speak?

The advances in dentistry today allow dentures to mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth. Dentures can even be designed to resemble the way you look now, and in most cases, improve your facial appearance and function, due to their ability to recreate the supportive structures of your natural teeth and surrounding bone. Exciting implant technology eliminates the fear of embarrassing, loose dentures and inconvenient adhesives and reduces any speaking transition period.

Can I eat with dentures?

Dentures today are more advanced, offering patients freedom to eat virtually any foods. While some foods may have to be cut into smaller pieces before placed in the mouth with traditional dentures, implant supported dentures are designed to restore natural chewing functions and even improve the taste of food from that of traditional dentures. With implant supported dentures you can go ahead and enjoy that corn on the cob!

How do I clean my dentures?

Just like your natural teeth, dentures need to be gently brushed to remove food particles and to prevent staining. Simply brush them with a toothbrush and paste and occasionally they can be soaked in a commercial product such as Efferdent. Dentures are made to appear as natural as possible and are fragile. They can be damaged easily by dropping, improper care or use of unapproved products and may warp if not properly stored when not in use.
