Can anyone have their teeth whitened?

Most anyone can enjoy the benefits of bright, healthy whitened teeth. As with any procedure your individual overall health will be evaluated to determine if teeth whitening is right for you. Teeth whitening is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding. Patients under the age of 16 and anyone on medications should consult their physician prior to treatment and patients with tooth-colored restorations will be evaluated prior to whitening to determine optimal results.

Is it painful to have my teeth whitened?

Teeth whitening products primarily consist of various hydrogen peroxide concentrations. In some cases professional and over-the-counter teeth whitening can cause minor sensitivity that normally subsides within 24 hours. This sensitivity, if any, can be brought on by several determining factors including, individual tooth anatomy, strength of whitening concentration and method of application, to name a few.

Is teeth whitening permanent?

Teeth whitening can produce dramatic results that do require maintenance to be maintained. Eating, drinking, cigarette smoking can affect the bright white smile achieved after treatment. We create custom trays for you to touch up or preserve whitening at home for your convenience.
